Physical Disabilities: An Overview
*This course has been pre-approved by OAHPERD for 5 clock hours.
This course will serve to explain what physical disabilities are, the causes of physical disabilities, the specific types of physical disabilities, and considerations for Recreational Therapist should be aware of when working with people who have physical disabilities. At the completion of this course, participants will need to pass an exam with a minimum score of 80% to receive CEU’s. Participants must complete the course within 365 days of starting the course to receive a completion certificate.
Course Objectives

Learner will be able to identify at least 3 common causes of physical disabilities.

Learner will demonstrate understanding of the physical differences in spinal cord injury levels of injury.

Learner will be able to define adaptive equipment.

Learner will be able to list 4 examples of adaptive equipment used with people with physical disabilities.
